Pininfarina and JAS revive the Honda NSX with a manual V6 for 2026
More than 40 years after the Honda HP-X concept that paved the way for the legendary NSX, Pininfarina and Italy’s JAS Motorsport are setting out to revive the icon. The first teaser reveals a refreshed interpretation of the original NSX NA1, blending Italian flair with clear respect for the classic.
The carbon body gains wider arches, vents behind the front wheels, and substantial intakes in the rear haunches. Crucially, the team preserves the essentials: the black cabin “capsule,” pop-up headlights, and the signature arc-shaped spoiler. The stance looks more hunkered down, and the proportions read cleaner and more cohesive than the 1990 car—subtle tweaks that sharpen the character rather than overwrite it.
Under the hood sits a revised Honda V6 making more than 270 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car will be offered with both left- and right-hand drive, and a track-focused version is rumored to follow. A manual in a car like this feels like the right call, promising the tactile connection enthusiasts expect from an NSX.
Pininfarina indicates the project is aimed at the road rather than the racetrack, with a comfortable, modern cabin promised. The full debut is slated for the first half of 2026, coinciding with a similar NSX reinterpretation from Italdesign.
All signs point to 2026 becoming a genuine revival year for the Japanese legend—once again uniting Japanese engineering with Italian design, and doing so with a confident, contemporary touch.
