Jaecoo J5 EV launches in Indonesia with 461 km range, 130 kW fast charging
After making its debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) earlier this year, the Jaecoo J5 EV has officially gone on sale in the country, offered in two trims: Standard and Premium.
Both versions share the same setup: a 60.9 kWh battery feeds a front-mounted electric motor rated at 211 hp (208 hp or 155 kW) and 288 Nm. With this drivetrain, the J5 EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and claims up to 461 km of range on the NEDC cycle. On paper, that punch should feel lively enough in everyday traffic.
Charging is equally straightforward. The car supports DC fast charging at up to 130 kW, enabling a 30 to 80% top-up in 28 minutes. There’s also Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality that can deliver up to 3.3 kW to power external devices, handy when a socket isn’t within reach.
Even in Standard specification, the J5 EV is well equipped: 18-inch wheels, a power panoramic glass roof, a powered tailgate, synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, eight speakers, 64-color ambient lighting, six airbags, a 50 W wireless charging pad, and telematics. The bundle looks thoughtfully curated for daily comfort without fluff.
Peace of mind is addressed with a 6-year/150,000 km warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty. Jaecoo Indonesia also includes a one-year subscription to telematics services, a practical touch for owners who value connected features.
