Audi is putting the finishing touches on the next-generation RS 6 Avant—the most powerful performance wagon in the brand’s history. The model is already undergoing testing and is slated to reach the market in 2026 as a 2027 model-year car.

Despite the company’s move to separate badges for combustion and electric models, the flagship will retain the storied RS 6 Avant name, according to 32CARS.RU. An enlarged grille, a full-width rear LED light bar, and the signature oval exhaust outlets will define the look.

The centerpiece is the powertrain. The V8 stays, now paired with a hybrid module that lifts output to 725 horsepower. That should allow the RS 6 Avant to edge past its closest rival—the new BMW M5 Touring, rated at 717 hp. The message is clear: the power race in the fast-wagon niche is still very much alive.

Inside, the car will feature an updated infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and new sport seats. Industry watchers anticipate that its premiere will be among the headline moments of the 2026 auto-show season, reinforcing Audi’s standing in the premium performance-wagon segment. On paper, the package looks cohesive and well-judged.
