Renault Twingo EV: Evolution vs Techno trims, specs and charging

After the high-profile debut of the new Renault Twingo, the brand has outlined its most affordable versions. The presentation focused on the range-topping Techno with 18-inch wheels, but a tour of the Novo Mesto factory gave a clearer look at the full lineup.

The red Twingo in the latest images is a Techno with standard 16-inch Diabolo hubcaps, while the green car in Slovenian media footage is the entry-level Evolution. It swaps in simpler Domino hubcaps, a white accent on the front panel, and more subdued fabric upholstery. The only configuration yet to be shown is the Evolution on the larger 18-inch Mikado wheels, styled like a four-blade propeller.

The key difference between Evolution and Techno is equipment. The base model brings a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch media screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, driver-fatigue monitoring, an electronic parking brake, sliding rear seats, air conditioning, and parking sensors—a generous list for an entry trim.

Techno adds OpenR Link infotainment with Google services, the Reno intelligent assistant, adaptive cruise control, climate control, One Pedal driving, a rearview camera, keyless entry, and upgraded audio. Together, these features make the package feel more complete without drifting into excess.

Both versions use an 82-hp motor and a 27.5-kWh LFP battery rated for up to 263 km on the WLTP cycle. The optional Advanced Charge pack adds 11 kW AC charging, 50 kW DC fast charging (10–80% in 30 minutes), and V2L functionality—useful additions for those who plan to charge away from home.
