BMW M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition celebrates 50 years of the 3 Series
BMW is marking the 50th anniversary of the 3 Series with a rare M340i xDrive 50 Jahre Edition—the first 3 Series on the U.S. market to receive premium Extended Merino Leather. Based on the all-wheel-drive M340i, this edition stands out not only for its equipment but also for a carefully curated palette of heritage colors that salute different eras. Ruby Red nods to the original E21, Boston Green recalls the legendary E30, Avus Blue evokes the dynamic E36, Carbon Black honors the iconic E46, and Sparkling Graphite echoes the stylish E90.
On the outside, the car wears Shadowline trim, an M Performance carbon spoiler, 19-inch 792M wheels, and black exhaust tips. At the rear, an anniversary badge underlines the model’s commemorative status.
Inside, unique leather pairings appear: Ivory for Ruby Red, Black for Carbon Black, and Tartufo for the other colors. The build also includes the expanded Premium Package with a Harman Kardon audio system, a head-up display, and an enhanced parking assistant.
There are no extra options to add—everything is included, apart from choosing the paint. The price is $76,735, just a couple of thousand less than a BMW M3. The all-in strategy streamlines the choice while curbing customization, fitting for a commemorative model with a clear brief.
Deliveries are slated for the first quarter of 2026, and it might be the final significant update to the current G20 before the next-generation G50 arrives. The timing and specification make it feel like a deliberate, well-judged send-off for today’s 3 Series.
