Rivian opens Miami hub, unveils 1980s-themed R1S Tri-Motor

Rivian is marking the official opening of its new hub in Miami’s Mary Brickell area. To celebrate, the company unveiled a special R1S created as a nod to the city’s vibrant design legacy and its enduring pull on pop culture, with a look steeped in the 1980s.

The electric SUV wears a white body with black accents, complemented by blue and turquoise side stripes. Pink tow hooks and a turquoise flourish on the front bumper pick up the theme. Those vivid touches carry over to the wheels, which mix black, pink, white, and turquoise elements; the palette leans unapologetically Miami and turns the R1S into a rolling postcard from that era.

Rivian did not detail the cabin, though it appears to use the Ocean Coast treatment with pink accents on the headrests. The company said the vehicle embodies the brand’s spirit, celebrating creativity and nostalgia in a fresh, distinctly Rivian way.

Since this unique build is based on the R1S Tri-Motor, it features three electric motors with a total output of 850 hp (634 kW / 862 hp). The setup enables a 0–60 mph sprint in under 2.9 seconds and a range of up to 597 km (371 miles) on a single charge—figures that feel like overkill for a city cruiser, yet they underline how serious this SUV is beneath the neon.
