Retro restomods at Guangzhou Auto Show 2025: SongSan coupes and convertibles, Fullgood hybrid microbus, custom motorcycles
At the Guangzhou Auto Show, a dedicated zone celebrates classics and their modern reinterpretations. The SongSan and Fullgood stand showcases restomods and custom motorcycles shaped by mid-century American design.
Among the highlights is a bright red coupe bristling with chrome, pronounced tailfins, and broad bumpers. A turquoise-and-white convertible also takes the stage, channeling late-1950s Corvette aesthetics. Both cars pair contemporary powertrains and up-to-date electronics with faithfully classic proportions—an approach that preserves period character while keeping day-to-day use straightforward.
The retro Fullgood microbus draws plenty of attention. Its two-tone palette, rounded forms, and stylized grille set the tone. The four-seat cabin has doors that open in both directions for easy boarding, and the interior converts into a proper sleeping area up to 185 cm long—practical thinking for unhurried getaways.
The model is built on a hybrid platform with a combined range of up to 1,000 kilometers and as much as 200 kilometers of electric-only driving. On paper, that blend covers city commutes and longer stretches between stops.
SongSan rounds out the display with custom motorcycles, including chrome-framed builds and a bike sporting a decorative skeleton motif along the front section. Across the stand, the unifying thread is retro style and hand-finished detailing that speaks to both craft and nostalgia.
