Toyota bZ4X updated with new batteries, 569 km WLTP range and faster charging
Toyota has unveiled a thoroughly updated version of the bZ4X electric crossover. The model now offers two new battery packs rated at 57.7 and 73.1 kWh, and with the larger battery and front-wheel drive, range reaches up to 569 km on the WLTP cycle. Production and deliveries of the refreshed model are set to begin in January 2026, with a starting price of €39,500.
Developed together with Panasonic, the batteries deliver higher energy density and improved stability. The warranty guarantees at least 70 percent of capacity for 10 years or 250,000 km. A new preconditioning system helps speed up fast charging in cold weather, with a 10 to 80 percent charge taking 28 minutes at temperatures down to –10°C.
The powertrain has been strengthened as well: the front motor now produces 165 kW, while the rear unit in AWD versions is rated at 87 kW. Updated components, including new semiconductors, improve performance and cut energy consumption. For rougher terrain, X-Mode and Grip Control are available, developed with Subaru.
Inside, the cabin has been reworked with a redesigned center console, a larger infotainment system, and more thoughtful ergonomics. The exterior has been tuned for better aerodynamics. Altogether, the updated bZ4X comes across as a more complete package that should appeal to buyers seeking an electric crossover with broader capability and substantial range.
