Volkswagen launches 2026 Polo in Spain: engines, trims, pricing

Volkswagen has unveiled the 2026 Polo for the Spanish market, rolling out an updated lineup that now finally includes an accessible 1.0 MPI naturally aspirated engine with 80 hp. The addition lowers the entry price—a timely move as refreshed rivals such as the Renault Clio, Dacia Sandero, and SEAT Ibiza press their case.

The base engine delivers 93 Nm and takes 15.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h, with a stated consumption of 5.2 l/100 km. Above it sits the 95-hp 1.0 TSI, noticeably quicker and more efficient, while those wanting more pull can opt for the 116-hp 1.0 TSI paired with a seven-speed DSG. Topping the range, the Polo GTI uses a 2.0 TSI with 207 hp and reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

The revamped 2026 Polo is offered in four trims—Match, Mas, R-Line, and GTI. Even the entry version brings seven airbags, a digital instrument cluster, air conditioning, wireless App-Connect, LED lighting, and a suite of safety assists including lane keeping and automatic emergency braking.

In Spain, prices start at €20,370 for the Polo 1.0 MPI Match. The 1.0 TSI begins at €21,190, while the GTI is priced at €33,335. Thanks to the new base engine, the Polo moves closer to key competitors on price while maintaining its familiar level of equipment and quality.
