Ram Rampage compact pickup arrives in Europe: Rebel and R/T specs
Ram is bringing the compact Rampage pickup to Europe, a model already proven in South America and set to arrive in Rebel and R/T trims. The design sticks to the brand’s signature playbook: a wide grille, muscular body lines, and a reinforced steel structure that looks ready for hard use.
The Ram Rampage Rebel is powered by a 2.2‑liter Multijet II diesel rated at 200 hp and 450 Nm. It can carry more than a ton of cargo, and its nine‑speed automatic transmission is calibrated to balance pulling power with smooth, easygoing progress—an approach that should click with those who split time between jobsite duties and long highway stretches.
The gasoline R/T version receives a 2.0‑liter turbocharged Hurricane4 with 272 hp. It sprints to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and tops out at 220 km/h. Suspension and exhaust are tuned for a sportier feel, and the numbers suggest a brisk, confident character uncommon among compact pickups.
Both versions feature all‑wheel drive with a 4x4 Low mode. The cargo bed offers roughly 1,000 liters of volume, protective liners, LED lighting, and an adjustable divider. It’s the kind of practical detailing that hints at thoughtful development rather than a simple styling exercise.
Inside, a 12.3‑inch Uconnect 5 system with wireless smartphone integration anchors the dashboard, paired with a 10.25‑inch digital instrument cluster. The cabin tech reads modern and straightforward, favoring clarity over gimmicks.
With contemporary safety systems on board, the Rampage lands as a credible contender among compact pickups for both work and everyday use. It should pique the interest of buyers who want a versatile vehicle in a format that remains relatively unusual for Europe.
