Tesla Model Y tops China’s 200,000–300,000 yuan EV segment in Oct 2025

Tesla Model Y topped the list of best‑selling electric vehicles priced between 200,000 and 300,000 yuan in China in October 2025, according to Yiche, which compiled the ranking from China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) data. The premium crossover outpaced a crowded field despite intense competition.

From January through October, 312,331 units of the electric crossover were sold, making it the best‑selling model in that price band on the Chinese market. That consistency hints at a formula that aligns neatly with local preferences, especially in a segment where new nameplates debut almost monthly.

The runner‑up was the Xiaomi SU7 crossover with 234,521 units, followed by the Tesla Model 3 with 146,379 retail sales over the same period. A potential main challenger to the Model Y—the Xiaomi YU7 crossover—currently sits in fourth place with 80,855 units. With two entries in the top three, Tesla clearly remains a magnet for buyers, while Xiaomi’s rising presence signals a contest that’s only getting sharper.
