Midsize three-row SUVs with the most cargo space (2025–2026)

If cargo space sits at the top of your SUV checklist — the ability to haul everything from suitcases to outdoor gear — midsize three-row crossovers once again come out ahead. Many are edging right up to about 2,800 liters of volume, pairing comfort for seven or eight passengers with a seriously useful load area.

The 2025 Honda Pilot remains one of the most practical choices, offering up to 2,460 liters with the second and third rows folded. The new-generation Toyota 4Runner delivers as much as 2,550 liters in a two-row layout — one of the strongest figures among body-on-frame SUVs. The Kia Telluride, despite its approachable pricing, doesn’t cede ground either: up to 2,460 liters and a genuinely usable third row.

The 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander pushes even closer to that almost-3,000-liter mark. With the seats down, it frees up 2,760 liters, placing it among the roomiest cabins in the segment. But the outright leader is the 2026 Chevrolet Traverse — the only one to clear 2,780 liters. Even with all three rows in use, nearly 650 liters remain, which is enough to keep a big family’s trip on track.

The takeaway is clear: if you want a true cargo gobbler, midsize three-row SUVs remain the most practical class. It also helps that most models start under $45,000 and already come with a generous suite of standard features.
