Chevrolet unveils 2026 Express Max EV for Mexico's last-mile fleets
General Motors has officially unveiled the 2026 Chevrolet Express Max EV, a new electric van for the Mexican market, where the Express Max lineup is sold only locally. Created under the GM–SAIC alliance, the model is aimed squarely at companies handling last‑mile deliveries.
The van comes in two configurations, with either a short or long wheelbase. For the first time in the Express Max family, a low‑roof version joins the range, a change intended to improve aerodynamics and cut energy consumption. The front‑drive setup uses a 150 kW motor (204 hp) with 330 Nm of torque. The SWB model is equipped with a 77 kWh battery for up to 277 km of range, while the LWB variant fits an 88.8 kWh pack good for 302 km.
Those figures put the Express Max EV at the top of its class for driving range. Inside, it stays focused on the essentials for commercial duty: a generous cargo area, hard‑wearing materials, and modern electronics.
Designed to optimize fleet operations, the Express Max EV is meant to reduce maintenance costs and help companies hit their environmental targets. Sales have already begun in Mexico, with vehicles imported from China. Buyers can choose from three body colors.
Overall, it comes across as a pragmatic electric tool—no frills, all function—and for Mexico’s local market it looks well positioned to be among the standouts in its class.
