Third-generation Nissan Juke EV spied with mature design
Nissan is readying the third-generation Juke, and the first spy shots hint at a sharp change of course. If the early Jukes thrived on shock value — with bug-eyed headlights and deliberately odd proportions — the new prototype looks far more composed. Even under heavy camouflage, the key shifts stand out: the headlights are smaller and sit higher, while the front end is more upright and grown-up. Even the parking sensors appear mounted unusually high, roughly level with the tops of the wheels, underscoring a more utilitarian tone. It feels like Nissan is letting the Juke grow up without losing its edge.
Along the sides, there are clear echoes of the latest Leaf: the rear door handles are hidden in the pillar, and the fronts are flush, suggesting a pop-out design. The wheels are unusual too — a complex pattern with minimal openings, as if aiming to balance aero efficiency with brake cooling.
At the rear, the Juke seems set to keep some of its signature eccentricity: chunky round taillights and sharp shoulder lines make it closer to the 2023 Hyper Punk concept than expected. Higher up, there are additional lighting elements, leaving open the question of which parts will serve as brake lights and turn signals. The mix feels deliberate, a nod to character without slipping back into costume.
Technically, the surprises are fewer. According to the source, the new Juke will share its platform with the Leaf and become an electric vehicle. Battery and motor details remain undisclosed, but the Leaf’s 75-kWh pack and up to 490 km of range offer a rough benchmark. A European debut is expected in the first half of 2026.
