BMW to appoint Milan Nedeljkovic CEO in May 2026

BMW is preparing for a change at the top: the supervisory board has appointed Milan Nedeljkovic as the new chief executive, effective May 14, 2026. The current head of the company, Oliver Zipse, will leave the post on May 13 by mutual agreement with the board, timed to the 2026 annual shareholders’ meeting. The way the handover is scheduled signals a measured transition rather than a scramble.

Nedeljkovic, 56, currently oversees production and has been with BMW since 1993. He began as a trainee and progressed through various sites and managerial roles before joining the management board. That career path usually brings a focus on execution and process—a steady hand that tends to matter most when predictability is the priority.
