BMW EVs can now use Tesla Superchargers: models, adapter, app

Tesla has added a 15th automaker to the expanding roster of brands whose electric vehicles can use the Supercharger network: BMW. The automaker has already told its EV owners they can plug in at any of the more than 25,000 Supercharger stations across North America. For BMW drivers, that widens the charging map and takes some guesswork out of long-distance travel.

New all-electric BMW models such as the i4, i5, i7 and iX can use Tesla’s V3 and V4 Superchargers. To charge at those sites, BMW EV drivers need a NACS-to-CCS1 adapter.

BMW plans to release its own official adapter in the second quarter of 2026; until then, third-party options are available. Owners will also need the Tesla app to enable Supercharger access and to check rates and station availability.
