GWM unveils the Haval H6 hybrid for Europe: specs, prices, 2026 launch

Great Wall Motor is officially returning to Europe. In Germany, the company unveiled the new Haval H6, a 4.70-meter hybrid crossover meant to reopen the brand’s path into the region. Sales are set to start in early 2026, and this will be the first of nine GWM launches planned for Europe.

The styling follows today’s playbook: slim front lights with vertical LED elements and a sizeable grille up front, with calmer, more measured lines at the rear. In the metal, the proportions look tidy rather than flashy, a sensible approach for a comeback model.

Inside, the focus is squarely on screens: a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 14.6-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The boot offers 560 liters of space, while a light headliner and synthetic leather set a bright, welcoming tone. The tech layout feels familiar to European tastes, which should help new buyers feel at home.

The powertrain lineup is straightforward: a single 1.5 HEV hybrid that pairs a 150-hp gasoline engine with a 177-hp electric motor for a combined 243 hp and 530 Nm. Power goes to the front wheels through a two-speed automatic. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.3 seconds, and the average consumption is quoted at 5.9 L/100 km. A compact 1.67 kWh battery enables short, city-only electric runs. On paper, the figures suggest brisk everyday performance and an emphasis on efficiency.

In Germany, prices start at 31,990 euros for the Premium trim and 34,690 euros for the Luxury. The brand promises a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and eight years for the battery. GWM also hints at an entry into Spain, though timing remains unspecified. The strategy looks measured: solid warranty terms, clear positioning, and a spec that feels carefully tailored to European expectations.
