Dodge Charger Sixpack named US Car of the Year 2026 by TopGear.com

The Dodge Charger Sixpack has been named U.S. Car of the Year 2026 by TopGear.com. The publication’s editors highlighted its blend of performance, versatility, and a modern take on the classic muscle-car persona. The winning model is powered by a 550-hp turbocharged gasoline Sixpack engine.

The decision followed demanding road tests, including the Tail of the Dragon in the Smoky Mountains, a challenging 18-kilometer route with 318 corners. During evaluation, the Charger demonstrated stability at high speed and confident handling in more aggressive modes, including controlled drifts. On roads like this, that calm precision matters more than spec-sheet bravado.

Top Gear editor-in-chief Jack Rix said the car can play the role of a relaxed daily driver while also transforming into a striking machine for spirited driving. Dodge added that the new-generation Charger retains rear-wheel drive when the driver wants it and offers all-wheel drive when needed. That dual character feels exactly right for today’s performance landscape.
