Volkswagen Bulli turns 75: Multivan and ID. Buzz 75 Jahre editions

In 2025, Volkswagen Bulli celebrates a milestone: 75 years since series production of the T1 began. Over the decades, the Transporter evolved into one of Europe’s most successful commercial vehicles, and to mark the occasion Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has prepared special 75 Jahre editions of the Multivan and the ID. Buzz.

For the German market, production is capped at 500 units, sold exclusively through dealerships. The defining trait is an expanded equipment list that would cost noticeably more in the regular configurator. Volkswagen quotes savings of 3,869 euros for the Multivan and 5,344 euros for the ID. Buzz. It’s a package-first strategy that tends to make sense for buyers who would otherwise load up on the same options.

The Multivan 75 Jahre is built in Hanover. It’s based on the long-wheelbase version with a 2.0-liter TDI rated at 150 hp and a DSG dual-clutch transmission. Visual cues are hard to miss: a two-tone Candy White and Starlight Blue Metallic finish, 19-inch wheels, and discreet ‘75’ badges. Inside, there are heated ArtVelours seats, three-zone climate control, Digital Cockpit Pro, Discover Pro navigation, and a flexible seven-seat layout. In Germany, the price is around 77,000 euros. The classic white-and-blue split suits the Multivan’s proportions particularly well.

The ID. Buzz 75 Jahre is also assembled in Hanover. It features the extended body, an 86 kWh battery with a heat pump, and a 286 hp electric motor. The spec includes 20-inch wheels, a heated windscreen, a seven-seat cabin trimmed with SEAQUAL recycled materials, and the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT integration. The price is about 75,000 euros. The mix of the longer body, seven seats, and sustainability-focused details neatly maps the electric Bulli’s trajectory.

Both editions lean on heritage without getting stuck in nostalgia, and the equipment-focused value play makes them feel thoughtfully curated for daily use.
