Kia EV9 gets Hyundai Mobis holographic windshield display at IAA 2025
At IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, Hyundai Mobis unveiled one of the show’s most striking debuts: the flagship Kia EV9 equipped with an HWD (Holographic Windshield Display). The technology turns the entire windshield into a full-fledged screen that shows navigation, media, and driving data, according to Pepelac News.
Developed together with ZEISS, the system is slated for series production in 2029. Unlike conventional head-up displays, HWD covers the entire glass and delivers an augmented-reality-like experience for the driver. Turning the windshield into the information layer feels like the logical next step beyond traditional HUDs.
In Munich, Hyundai Mobis also showcased its software-defined vehicle (SDV) concept, combining Level 2+ autonomous control, cybersecurity systems, and over-the-air updates. Among the visual highlights is the new M.VICS 6.0 digital cockpit with an integrated holographic display and a sliding screen — a setup that clearly aims to redefine how drivers interact with the cabin.
The company is actively working with European automakers, including Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. Since 2021, Hyundai Mobis has increased its European sales by more than 60%, and its presence at IAA 2025 is intended to reinforce the brand’s standing. For a technology supplier, that momentum in Europe speaks for itself.
