2026 Hyundai Bayon unveiled: 1.0 T-GDI engine, pricing and trims
Hyundai has officially unveiled the 2026 model-year Bayon. The compact crossover looks largely familiar, with the key changes happening under the hood. The previous powertrains are gone; in their place is a new 1.0 T-GDI gasoline turbo rated at 90 hp. It drives the front wheels only and pairs with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Hyundai also plans to add a full hybrid to the lineup during 2026. The restrained approach feels deliberate—a tidy mechanical rethink rather than a styling exercise.
In Europe, pricing starts at €22,800. The trim structure has been streamlined to three levels. The entry XTech already brings LED daytime running lights, air conditioning, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10.25-inch infotainment system with over-the-air updates—a sensible baseline for daily use.
The Business trim leans into comfort and tech, adding alloy wheels, full LED lighting, an expanded digital cluster, and parking aids. At the top, Excellence targets buyers who want more: automatic climate control, keyless entry, wireless charging, and a broader suite of driver-assistance systems.
Bayon remains one of Hyundai’s most attainable city crossovers and fits neatly into the brand’s range as an alternative to larger models. It stakes its appeal on simplicity, efficiency, and tried-and-tested solutions—an uncomplicated proposition that should resonate with urban drivers.
