2026 Lexus IS unveiled with sharper dynamics and tech
Lexus has unveiled the updated IS, set to reach various markets in early 2026. The lineup centers on two versions: IS 300h and IS 350.
The revised IS brings targeted changes to sharpen dynamics and strengthen visual presence. Engineers set out to tighten steering response and boost overall stability. To that end, the sedan adopts an innovative variable‑ratio electric power steering system that adapts to conditions in real time, aiming to deliver precise control regardless of speed. On the road, this should make the car feel more alert to small inputs.
Also new is an adaptive suspension featuring linear solenoid technology. It is designed to smooth the ride and maintain stability even on challenging surfaces, while significantly cutting the body vibrations that reach the cabin. In practice, that should help the IS stay composed on rougher stretches without muting driver confidence.
Attention also went to the exterior. The front end now looks more assertive and contemporary thanks to a redesigned bumper and grille that emphasize a low center of gravity and a wide track. The result reads sportier and gives the IS a stance that better matches its intent.
F SPORT variants add a sleek rear spoiler and dedicated 19‑inch alloy wheels. Beyond the visual punch, these changes target lower aerodynamic drag, which in turn benefits efficiency and high‑speed stability.
The color palette grows with a new shade called Neutrino Gray, a tone that suits the IS’s surfacing and underscores a sense of individuality.
Inside, the IS sees meaningful upgrades aimed at comfort and ease of use. The centerpiece is a larger multimedia system with a 12.3‑inch display delivering high resolution and quick responses. Fresh trim materials, including leather and aluminum, give the cabin a premium feel with a subtle sporty edge.
On the safety front, the brand has expanded Lexus Safety System+. The suite now includes highway‑driving support functions designed to raise safety and ease the driver’s workload on long trips. Taken together, the updates make the IS easier to live with and a more reassuring companion day to day.
