Genesis GV90 EV spy photo teases pillarless doors and Neolun-style taillights

The Genesis GV90, the brand’s forthcoming flagship electric SUV, is edging closer to its official debut and gradually revealing its design. A fresh nighttime spy photo of a prototype highlights a taillight layout with brake lamps modeled after the Neolun concept. Even under heavy camouflage, the elongated proportions, clean surfacing, and doors that appear flush with the body come through.

The main intrigue is the hint of a pillarless setup. It looks striking, yet demands serious engineering: to preserve rigidity, cabin quietness, and tight sealing, patent descriptions suggest Genesis is developing a multi-layer sealing system. The logic is this: the front door attaches to the body, the rear door is hinged at the back and interfaces with the front one, and several sealing contours overlap the gaps and damp noise, aiming for premium isolation on par with traditional solutions.

There are also patented refinements for the door latches: mechanisms that pull the door in for precise seating, stabilize its position, and compensate for the long panels’ tendency to sag over time.
