Factory-backed exhaust upgrades for Ford Mustang S550 EcoBoost
Ford has expanded its factory accessories lineup for the S550-generation Mustang, unveiling two new exhaust packages for models powered by the 2.3-liter EcoBoost. Available for 2015–2023 cars, the systems are aimed at owners who want factory-backed tuning without giving up compatibility with production components. It’s a neat way to add voice while staying true to OEM roots.
Both options appear in the Ford Racing catalog and bolt directly to the stock catalytic converters using factory mounting points. The Touring setup offers a more restrained yet expressive tone and meets a 95 dB drive-by noise limit. The Extreme version dials up the aggression while keeping the mufflers in place.
Built from 304-grade stainless steel, the systems use 2.25-inch mandrel-bent tubing. According to the manufacturer, they’re roughly 9 kilograms lighter than the stock exhaust. Installation requires no vehicle modifications, though the kits aren’t intended for cars equipped with active exhaust. Shedding weight while preserving OEM fit is a combination that rarely disappoints.
The new systems are offered for both coupe and convertible Mustang S550 models with the EcoBoost engine and are designed for drivers who want a richer soundtrack without altering the car’s underlying design. That brief should resonate with owners seeking more character while keeping the package cohesive and factory-friendly.
