Meet the 2026 Shelby Super Snake: 830-hp Mustang, limited to 300

Shelby American has officially unveiled the 2026 Shelby Super Snake—one of the most extreme takes on the new S650-generation Ford Mustang. True to form, it outmuscles and outperforms the standard Mustang GT in all key areas, and this time the focus extends beyond raw output to bolder visual differentiation.

It starts with a Ford Mustang GT equipped with the Performance Pack, MagneRide adaptive suspension, an active exhaust, and a strengthened braking system. As a foundation, it’s a setup that signals serious intent.

A 5.0-liter Coyote V8 sits under the hood. In standard tune it delivers 480 horsepower, while an optional 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger raises output to an imposing 830 hp. The car can be had with either a manual or an automatic transmission, and in fastback or convertible body styles.

The headline hardware update is a set of 20-inch forged magnesium wheels in gunmetal bronze. They trim unsprung and rotating mass by 16.6 kg, a diet that pays off in quicker acceleration, sharper responses, and stronger braking. The intake and cooling systems have also been revised to keep performance consistent in extreme conditions.

Orange Fury joins the palette for the first time, a shade that suits the model’s aggressive temperament. Inside, the car is tailored with leather seats paired with Alcantara, snake-scale embroidery, Shelby-branded floor mats, a unique shift selector, and a plaque with a serial number. Production will be limited to 300 units for the 2026 Shelby Super Snake. Pricing starts at $175,885, including the base Mustang and an extended warranty.

The Super Snake remains a rare example of a car that mixes supercar-grade pace with classic American character, while staying markedly more attainable than many European rivals.
