Kia K4 Sportswagon unveiled: 2026 estate with 604‑litre boot, smart tech and hybrids coming

Kia continues to strengthen its C‑segment range and has unveiled the new K4 Sportswagon—an estate aimed at buyers who want a bigger boot and everyday usability without moving up to a full D‑segment car. The 2026 version feels like a natural extension of the K4 family and brings a meaningful boost in versatility.

K4 Sportswagon: practicality first

The defining change is a longer body that lifts luggage capacity to 604 liters—166 liters more than the hatchback—making the Sportswagon one of the roomiest choices in the segment. It is positioned between the C and D classes, targeting those who need space without the bulk of more expensive models. In practice, it reads like a sweet spot for drivers juggling family duties and commuting.

The Sportswagon mirrors the K4’s engine architecture while expanding it with new configurations.

The base engine is a 1.0 T‑GDI rated at 114 hp, offered with a manual gearbox or as an MHEV paired with a 7‑speed DCT. Above it are 1.6 T‑GDI options with 148 or 178 hp, both also with the seven‑speed DCT.

The company confirms that a full HEV will arrive later in 2026 and is expected to become a major sales driver thanks to low fuel consumption and tax advantages.

For drivers seeking a livelier look, the GT‑Line adds reshaped bumpers, gloss‑black trim and sporty interior accents.

The cabin features Kia’s signature panoramic display that links a 12.3‑inch instrument cluster, a 5.3‑inch climate touchscreen and a 12.3‑inch infotainment screen. The CCNC platform provides quick navigation, over‑the‑air updates and remote access.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard.

For day‑to‑day convenience, the Sportswagon alone gets an exclusive power tailgate—one of those small touches that tends to matter every single day.

The Kia K4 Sportswagon arrives as a significant addition to the range, elevating practicality and widening its reach. The estate fits neatly between segments, offering a larger boot, modern electronics and a broad spread of powertrains. UK prices have yet to be announced, with a premium expected over the hatchback that starts from £26,045.
