Chery Tiggo 8 base model debuts with 1.6L turbo engine and ADAS

The new base version of the Chery Tiggo 8 has gone on sale in Malaysia for 129,800 Malaysian ringgit, excluding insurance. This model features a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 197 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Visually, the base Tiggo 8 distinguishes itself with a few key changes: it lacks the full-width rear light bar and has faux exhaust tips. Inside, the cabin boasts separate screens for the multimedia system and instrument cluster, plus a dedicated climate control panel.

Importantly, the base Chery Tiggo 8 retains advanced safety features like ADAS and a 360-degree panoramic view system. It's available to buyers in two colors: a deep black and a light beige.

The vehicle comes with a 7-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, while the engine is covered for 10 years or 1 million kilometers. Sales of the base Chery Tiggo 8 will begin in Malaysia starting January 24th.
