Citroen reduces e-C4 and e-C4 X EV prices below €30,000 in 2026

Citroen has kicked off 2026 with a significant price adjustment for its electric models, lowering the cost of the e-C4 and e-C4 X sedan below €30,000. This move strengthens the brand's position in the affordable European EV segment.

Prices and Key Changes

The new pricing makes the e-C4 one of the most affordable European-made electric cars. The You version with a 100 kW motor now costs €28,790, while other trims range from €30,240 to €32,830. This reduction applies to both lineups—the five-door e-C4 and the e-C4 X sedan—except for the Collection level, which isn't available for the X. With this new positioning, the model becomes an attractive alternative to more expensive urban EVs.

Technical Specifications and Trims

The hatchback comes with two powertrains: a standard setup delivering 136 hp and a 50 kWh battery, offering 354 km on the WLTP cycle, and an extended version with 156 hp and a 54 kWh battery, providing 416 km WLTP. Both support charging up to 100 kW, recovering 20–80% in 25–27 minutes.

Standard equipment includes 16-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, a multimedia system with a 10-inch screen, the brand's Advanced Comfort suspension, and a full suite of basic electronic features.

Market Significance and Implications

Citroen is ramping up pressure in the low-cost EV segment, where competition is intensifying due to the arrival of budget models from Chinese brands. The price cut for the e-C4 also supports local production in Spain and helps the brand maintain its market share. Against this backdrop, with uncertainty around e-C3 Aircross pricing and no updates on e-C5 Aircross tariffs, the focus on the e-C4 appears strategically sound.
