Cars more reliable than Toyota Camry: top models and ratings
The Toyota Camry has long been considered one of the most reliable cars in its class, but recent data from Consumer Reports and J.D. Power shows that even this bestseller faces worthy competition.
Based on factors like durability, repairability, and build quality, experts have identified several models that demonstrate even higher reliability, according to 32CARS.RU.
The Toyota Corolla scored 76 points in the Consumer Reports assessment, edging out the Camry with 74 points, while J.D. Power gave both models equally high ratings.
Leading the pack is the compact Nissan Kicks, which earned 88 points for quality and reliability, along with the Toyota Crown. Thanks to its hybrid system and all-wheel drive, the Crown achieved a higher rating than the Camry.
The Nissan Murano also received strong marks, with 88 points from J.D. Power. Experts point to its combination of a reliable powertrain, comfortable interior, and modern technology.
The Subaru Crosstrek outperformed the Camry in the Consumer Reports ranking, scoring 78 points and reinforcing the brand's reputation for durability and all-wheel drive capability.
Among crossovers, the Toyota Corolla Cross stood out with 79 points, while the Toyota Avalon emerged as the top performer in the J.D. Power study, earning 91 points. Despite being discontinued, this model remains one of the most reliable in its segment.
Rounding out the list is the Subaru Impreza, which consistently ranks among the best for reliability and topped the Consumer Reports ranking in 2025. These results suggest that reliability is increasingly tied to a brand's engineering philosophy rather than any single leading model.
For buyers, this means a wider range of choices. Even if the Camry is unavailable or seems too expensive, there are plenty of alternatives on the market that can offer comparable, and sometimes greater, long-term durability.
