Toyota Tundra recall: multimedia display fix for 2024-2025 models

Toyota has announced a recall of approximately 162,000 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles from the 2024-2025 model years. The issue stems from a technical fault in the multimedia display, which can cause the rearview camera or other images to freeze or disappear.

What Happened

The company explained that under certain conditions, the screen might get stuck on a single frame or go completely black. In such cases, the vehicle fails to meet federal safety standards because the driver loses the visual cues needed for maneuvering.

The glitches affect the Tundra model, including its hybrid variant. All impacted vehicles will receive an update: Toyota is preparing a free fix that dealers will install or deliver over the air, depending on the vehicle's configuration and software version.

How the Recall Will Proceed

Owners will be notified by the end of March. After that, the vehicles will get a multimedia software update to resolve the display error.
