Xpeng G6 Standard Range offers economical electric crossover option

The Chinese brand Xpeng has announced pricing for the new entry-level version of its G6 crossover in Spain. The G6 Standard Range offers an economical alternative to the Tesla Model Y while maintaining solid performance and equipment.

This version features a 185-kilowatt electric motor on the rear axle, which is lower than the Long Range's 218 kW, but torque remains unchanged at 440 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.94 seconds, with a top speed of 202 km/h.

The key difference lies in the battery capacity of 68.5 kWh (gross), providing a WLTP range of 455 km. Thanks to its 800V architecture and 382 kW charging capability, the crossover can still replenish its charge from 10% to 80% in just 12 minutes.

The model lacks seat massage and a digital mirror in its equipment, but it retains premium suspension options, a full set of driving modes, and aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.248.

The price for the Xpeng G6 Standard Range hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but it's expected to be significantly lower than the Long Range, making it a strong contender in the affordable electric crossover segment.

Xpeng is smartly strengthening its European offering: the G6 Standard Range appears to be a sensible choice for those looking to save money without sacrificing modern technology and fast charging.
