New Chery QQ3 EV: compact electric sedan with advanced tech
The automotive market will be relatively quiet from February 2 to 8, 2026, due to the approaching Chinese New Year, but it won't be entirely without interesting debuts. The key event of the week will be the start of blind pre-orders for the Chery QQ3 EV—a compact electric sedan that has already been registered with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
The new Chery QQ3 EV is positioned as an urban electric vehicle with a focus on style and technology. Externally, the model is noticeably different from previous members of the QQ family. It features a fully enclosed front end, rounded headlights, and streamlined body shapes, giving it a modern and friendly appearance. Semi-concealed door handles and black aerodynamic wheels highlight efforts to reduce drag and add sporty touches.
The model measures 4,195 mm in length, 1,811 mm in width, and 1,569 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, promising decent space for a compact class. The rear follows the same rounded style as the front, with taillights visually echoing the headlights.
In terms of equipment, the Chery QQ3 EV emphasizes digital solutions. The electric car will include 256-color dynamic interior lighting, wireless smartphone charging, and an advanced voice control system. The smart interior will feature the Lingxi AI cabin, while the Falcon 500 system will handle driver assistance, supporting urban NOA, automatic parking, and city route memory functions.
On the technical side, the model is equipped with a 58 kW electric motor from Inovance Automotive, powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery from Gotion High-Tech. The electric vehicle's top speed reaches 125 km/h, which is fully suited for urban and suburban driving scenarios.
The Chery QQ3 EV appears to be an attempt to revive a cult name in a new, tech-savvy format, and with the right price, the model has every chance to become a popular urban electric car.
