BMW clarifies iX3 availability and plans new affordable versions
German automaker BMW has officially denied earlier rumors of a shortage of iX3 electric vehicles in Europe. Several European publications had reported that the entire stock of this model was supposedly sold out through the end of 2026. However, company representatives firmly rejected this claim.
Anne Brons, head of BMW Group's Dutch division, emphasized that any customer who places an order for an iX3 electric vehicle now can receive their car by this summer. This is possible due to significant efforts to expand production capacity at BMW's plant in Debrecen, Hungary.
According to the company, about one-third of all orders for BMW electric vehicles in the EU are for the iX3 model. This detail matters because it highlights the model's popularity in the region.
In practice, this means BMW plans to offer more affordable versions of its popular iX3 lineup. Two new variants are expected soon: a more affordable rear-wheel-drive iX3 40 and an all-wheel-drive iX3 40 xDrive, both priced below the 50 xDrive, which BMW currently sells for 70,900 euros.
