Jaguar unveils powerful electric GT with 1,000 hp and 770 km range

Jaguar continues to unveil details about its upcoming flagship, preparing the electric four-door GT for its official debut. Winter testing in the Arctic region is part of the brand's largest development program in history, and it has brought new technical specifications to light. The British company stated that the powertrain's output will exceed 735 kW (about 1,000 hp), making this model the most powerful production Jaguar ever.

According to the chief dynamics engineer, the GT must retain the feel of a classic Jaguar: smooth on the road, yet precise and composed in corners. A low center of gravity, new architecture, and signature torque distribution across the axles shape the grand tourer's character, backed by immense power reserves. Meanwhile, an expected range of 770 kilometers shows that the focus isn't solely on performance.

Thermal management has received special attention. In Arctic conditions, engineers are refining the ThermAssist system, which reduces heat loss by up to 40% and can redirect recycled warmth to heat the cabin or powertrain. Jaguar emphasizes that temperature testing is critical for an electric vehicle of this caliber, especially with global markets in mind.

The electric GT will complete its testing program around summer 2026 and make its public debut by year's end. This model marks a new direction for Jaguar: a shift toward high-tech, emotional, and exclusively electric vehicles while preserving the brand's spirit and the driving character cherished by its fans.
