Nissan Gravite: new 7-seat MPV to launch in India on February 17
Nissan has officially confirmed the debut date for the new seven-seat Gravite, a compact MPV that will be one of the brand's key projects for the Indian market. Originally scheduled for January, the automaker has moved the premiere to February 17, as announced through its official social media channels.
The upcoming Gravite is a direct competitor to the Renault Triber and also a technical relative, with both models built on a shared platform and featuring the same powertrain. For India's affordable family car segment, this signals intensified competition in the compact seven-seat MPV category.
While Nissan hasn't yet revealed details about the Gravite's equipment, performance, or trim levels, the model is expected to retain the Triber's functionality while adding Nissan's signature design and different interior configurations. The three-row seating layout will remain, positioning the Gravite as one of the most affordable seven-seaters on the market.
This MPV launch is part of Nissan's broader push in India, with the brand preparing two more new vehicles set to arrive before 2027. This strategy aims to strengthen Nissan's position in the rapidly growing market for budget-friendly family cars.
