Acura ranks low in comfort, but new tech offers hope
According to recent research from Consumer Reports, Acura vehicles have landed at the bottom of the rankings for comfort. The study found that Acura significantly lags behind competitors in key areas like seat quality, ride smoothness, and cabin noise insulation.
These findings align with other specialist publications and tests. The new 2024 Acura MDX premium crossover, for instance, received middling reviews regarding overall cabin comfort. Meanwhile, the compact Acura RDX SUV faced criticism specifically for its overly stiff suspension, which makes rides over road imperfections less pleasant.
Nevertheless, Acura's leadership acknowledges the issue and is actively working on solutions. Recent premium trim models already feature new technologies aimed at boosting passenger comfort. Notable innovations include an adaptive air suspension system that dynamically adjusts ride height and damping, plus massaging functions in the front seats to enhance driver and passenger relaxation during long journeys.
