Range Rover facelift and electric model set for 2026 launch
JLR is preparing the first major update for the Range Rover in four years, and it will likely debut alongside the long-awaited Range Rover EV, whose premiere is scheduled for late 2026. The appearance of the updated flagship has been confirmed by fresh spy shots taken during winter testing above the Arctic Circle.
The prototype features a noticeably altered front end with completely new headlights, a different grille, and a bumper with enlarged air intakes. These elements form a fresh visual direction for the model. The rear is being left mostly untouched for now, but the main surprise is hidden inside—the cabin is fully covered in camouflage, indicating a substantial interior redesign.
The technical lineup will retain existing powertrains: diesel and petrol mild-hybrid versions, as well as plug-in hybrids. The top-of-the-line 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 (607 horsepower in the SV version) also remains in the lineup. JLR traditionally does not comment on future models, but previously stated that the design of the electric version will match the ICE modifications—which explains the appearance of unified facelift elements.
According to Autocar, the Range Rover EV was delayed until late 2026 because engineers required additional testing. Now, the facelifted ICE version and the electric model are expected to be presented simultaneously—a key event for JLR and the entire premium segment.
