Bentley Flying Spur Ombre Mulliner debuts with a 60-hour gradient finish
Bentley has introduced a special Mulliner edition of the Flying Spur called Ombre. Its standout feature is an exclusive gradient paint finish that takes nearly 60 hours of hand work to complete.
The body wears vibrant Topaz Blue at the nose and deep Windsor Blue at the tail. The gradual blend is applied by hand, with two craftspeople working in sync on opposite sides of the car. According to Bentley, the process demands perfect symmetry and precision, which is why the Ombre finish ranks among its most intricate. The method reads like choreography—and it’s the kind of craft that gives a bespoke sedan real presence.
Beyond the classic Topaz Blue–Windsor Blue pairing, buyers can also choose Tungsten–Onyx or Sunburst Gold–Orange Flame gradients. These combinations are selected to prevent an unintended “third” shade from appearing and to keep the transition between colors clean and fluid. The goal is clarity over spectacle, letting the hues flow rather than clash.
The Flying Spur Ombre will be the first Bentley sedan to wear this treatment. Its public debut is set for the Southampton International Boat Show from September 19 to 28, where it will be shown alongside other brand exclusives—a fitting stage for a finish meant to be appreciated up close.
