Toyota Rumion gets safer with six airbags, 360-degree camera, CNG option

Toyota has unveiled an updated Rumion with a sharper focus on safety. The compact MPV now comes with six airbags across all versions—front, side, and curtain. That brings the model in line with today’s safety expectations while keeping it within reach: prices start at about 1.13 million rubles. Pairing robust protection with accessible pricing feels like the sensible move in this class.

Every trim also receives a 360-degree camera, and the top-spec V gains a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). These additions make daily driving that bit calmer and more predictable, without overcomplicating the spec sheet.

Inside, the Rumion retains a seven-seat layout with a two-tone cabin. The second row is split 60:40, while the third row offers reclining backrests. Rear passengers get dedicated air vents—small details that add up to better comfort on longer journeys.

Equipment includes a 7-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an Arkamys audio system, climate control, and Toyota i-Connect with smartwatch pairing, a voice assistant, and remote lock control. It’s a useful, everyday set of tech that covers the essentials without resorting to gimmicks.

Under the hood sits a familiar 1.5-liter K-series gasoline engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. For buyers focused on efficiency, a factory CNG version is also on offer—a pragmatic choice that underscores the Rumion’s no-nonsense brief.
