Maxus T60 Max: a capable diesel pickup with advanced features

As SUV and pickup truck prices continue to climb, a new model has arrived that could seriously shake up the segment. It's the Maxus T60 Max, a proper 4x4 with a low-range transfer case, automatic transmission, and a powerful diesel engine, all for about €25,000 less than a Toyota Hilux.

Under the hood is a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel producing 215 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. It's paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system featuring a locking rear differential. Performance figures are respectable for the class: 0-100 km/h takes 11.9 seconds, with a top speed of 170 km/h. Its dimensions confirm this is a serious vehicle, measuring nearly 5.4 meters long and offering a payload capacity of over one ton. With a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons, this pickup is a fully capable workhorse.

Its real trump card, however, is its equipment. Even the base model comes with LED lighting, adaptive cruise control, a 360-degree camera system, hill descent control, and a wide array of safety assistants.

Inside, you'll find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, heated seats, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Priced around €29,990 before taxes, the Maxus T60 Max becomes one of the segment's most compelling value propositions.

This is especially true when compared to more expensive rivals like the Toyota Hilux, which notably lags in terms of features for the price. Models like this highlight how quickly the market is changing. Chinese brands are no longer just catching up—they're starting to set the rules by offering maximum value for less money.
