Used Mercedes EQE: premium EV now affordable at €35,000
The used electric vehicle market is evolving rapidly, and the Mercedes EQE stands out as a prime example. This premium electric sedan, which recently commanded over €70,000, can now be found for nearly half that price.
We're talking about 2022 EQE 300 models with around 90,000 kilometers on the clock. These cars are being offered for roughly €35,000, putting them in competition with new models from more affordable segments. Yet they retain the comfort and technology expected in the business class.
The EQE comes with an 89 kWh battery pack, delivering up to 639 kilometers of range under WLTP testing. Even after significant mileage, the battery's residual capacity remains around 96%, highlighting the durability of modern battery systems.
With 245 horsepower, a smooth ride, and a comprehensive suite of features—including adaptive cruise control, the augmented reality MBUX system, a head-up display, and premium interior finishes—the EQE makes a comfortable choice for long-distance travel. The steep price drop stems from high depreciation rates among premium EVs and a wave of vehicles coming off lease.
This has flooded the market with well-equipped models at significantly reduced costs. For buyers, the used EV segment now offers new opportunities to access high-end features without breaking the bank.
The EQE clearly illustrates how quickly premium electric cars are losing value. For consumers, this represents a chance; for manufacturers, it's a serious signal that pricing strategies may need reevaluation.
