Volkswagen reveals 2026 Taigun update with refreshed design

Volkswagen has unveiled the updated 2026 Taigun ahead of its official launch on April 9. Production of the model has already begun in India at the Chakan plant, which also assembles the Skoda Kushaq.

Exterior and Features

The main changes focus on design. The crossover features a new front end with a revised radiator grille and updated LED lighting. Overall, the model now looks more "premium," an important factor in the compact SUV segment.

An interior refresh is also expected, with new trim materials and an expanded options list, though exact details have not yet been revealed.

Unchanged Mechanics

From a technical standpoint, Volkswagen has chosen not to alter the proven platform. The Taigun will retain the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI gasoline engines, which are already well-known from the current version. This indicates the update is evolutionary, avoiding changes to the powertrain.

The Taigun is a key player in India's midsize crossover segment. This refresh aims to boost its competitiveness against models from Hyundai, Kia, and Tata.

Volkswagen has taken a conservative approach with the Taigun update: fresh design and enhanced features without mechanical changes. This strategy helps maintain a balance between cost and appeal for the mass market.
