2027 Corvette order date set for new trim and powertrain

The 2027 model year will be a pivotal one for the mid-engine Corvette, introducing new trim variations and even a fresh powertrain. We now know when U.S. dealers will officially begin taking orders for the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette.

According to preliminary information, dealers will start accepting orders for the 2027 Corvette on April 16, 2026. On that date, dealers can input new configurations into GM's ordering system, though it's important to note that these new orders won't be processed immediately. Final processing will occur later, with the exact date not yet disclosed.

These timelines align with the broader Corvette production schedule. For instance, serial production of the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2026. However, dealers reportedly won't be able to order the hybrid 2027 Corvette Grand Sport X until later this year.

All 2027 Corvette variants will continue to use the GM Y2 platform. The 2027 model year will also introduce a new naturally aspirated 6.7-liter V8 LS6 engine, replacing the 6.2-liter V8 LT2. This new engine will be featured in the C8 Stingray, C8 Grand Sport, and C8 Grand Sport X. The new powerplant is estimated to produce 535 horsepower. With the addition of an electric motor, the new Grand Sport X will deliver a combined output of 721 horsepower.
