Genesis GV90 revealed in new spy shots as ultra-luxury electric SUV

Genesis is preparing the new GV90 flagship electric crossover, and fresh spy shots have revealed several key elements of its design. A bodyless prototype has confirmed that the model will use a stretched platform, pillarless doors and a premium layout.

What the first images revealed

The photos show a long wheelbase and proportions typical of chauffeur-focused luxury models. Even without body panels, the vehicle’s focus on rear-seat comfort and cabin space is obvious. The main talking point is the absence of a central pillar. That also aligns with Genesis patents describing a complex door-sealing system. The design uses multiple sealing layers to preserve body rigidity and sound insulation.

What technology Genesis’s flagship will bring

The GV90 will be an electric SUV with luxury and innovation at its core. Key features are expected to include coach doors, seat-integrated seat belts and new MLA lighting technology.

24-inch wheels are also expected, which would be a record for a production Korean model. That underlines the car’s status and its focus on the premium segment.

Cabin and market positioning

The interior will reportedly adopt a four-seat VIP layout with individual second-row seats. Premium materials, including quilted leather, will be used, while vehicle functions move deeper into the digital environment.

Genesis is clearly targeting competition with brands such as Rolls-Royce and Maybach, aiming to offer a similar level of comfort in an electric-vehicle format.

Why the GV90 matters

The project highlights Genesis’s broader strategy: moving from premium into full luxury. The GV90 is set to become a showcase for technology and design, while also reflecting the global shift toward electrified high-end models.

The Genesis GV90 is more than just another new SUV; it is an attempt to reshape the brand’s image. Pillarless doors, a premium format and an electric platform make it one of the most ambitious projects in the segment. If the production version keeps these features, the market could gain a serious new rival to the traditional luxury marques.
