Xiaomi YU7 GT set for late-May 2026 debut

Xiaomi has announced the imminent debut of the YU7 GT, scheduled for late May 2026. The new electric car will feature a dual-motor powertrain rated at 1,003 hp, a driving range of up to 705 km and an estimated price of $45,000 to $50,000.

The YU7 GT will build on the standard version of the model, retaining the core design while adding more aggressive elements. Changes include a new exterior color, sportier aerodynamic details and upgraded brakes.

The car gets a redesigned front bumper, a large diffuser and signature lighting elements, including “waterdrop” headlights and a rear light bar.

The main distinction lies in the powertrain. The EV is equipped with two motors: the front unit delivers 288 kW, while the rear produces 450 kW. Combined output reaches 1,003 hp, placing the model in the high-performance EV segment.

Range is quoted at up to 705 km on the CLTC cycle, while top speed reaches 300 km/h. Xiaomi also cites advanced aerodynamic work, including 19 air ducts and an optimized body.

With the launch of the YU7 GT, Xiaomi is stepping up pressure on the high-power EV segment, where Tesla and Chinese brands already hold a strong position. With a relatively accessible price, the model could draw buyers looking for performance and technology. Just as importantly, Xiaomi is continuing to broaden its lineup beyond entry-level offerings, reinforcing its image as a technology-focused manufacturer.
