212 expands its off-road range with the updated T01, T10 and Explorer 01

At the Beijing motor show, 212 presented a major expansion of its model range, including several new products at once: the updated T01, a diesel version, a new midsize SUV, the compact T10 off-roader and the Explorer 01 pickup. The move shows the brand’s ambition to cover several segments, from utilitarian vehicles to models aimed at active leisure.

The updated T01 keeps its classic boxy look but gains more modern hardware. It is built on a ladder-frame structure and the WY platform, while power comes from a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 185 kW. Its off-road credentials are substantial: a low-range transfer case, four-wheel drive with a 50:50 split and a wading depth of up to 850 mm.

The diesel T01 is aimed at long-distance travel and everyday practicality. Thanks to its efficient engine and 80-litre fuel tank, range approaches 1,000 km, making the model well suited to expeditions and off-road use. The new 212 SUV is targeted at a broader audience. It combines an off-road architecture with improved aerodynamics and comfort, offering versatility for the city and light off-road driving.

The T10 deserves separate attention: it is a compact off-roader with a short wheelbase and a removable roof. Designed for fans of extreme leisure, it stands out with strong manoeuvrability and classic styling.

The Explorer 01 pickup rounds out the line-up as a multifunctional vehicle. It combines off-road capability with load-carrying practicality, offering a modular body for different scenarios, from work to travel.

212 is focusing on a return to its roots: proper body-on-frame off-roaders with genuine four-wheel drive. At the same time, the brand is trying to adapt to modern expectations by adding comfort and technology, which could make its products appealing beyond the off-road enthusiast audience.
