Hyptec S600 Debuts with Coupe Styling and Up to 800 km of Electric Range
At the Beijing motor show, Hyptec introduced the new S600 midsize crossover and immediately opened blind pre-orders for the model. The newcomer is positioned as a technology-led, stylish vehicle that combines coupe-inspired design with SUV practicality.
The defining feature of the S600 is its exterior. The model follows a concept of “natural aesthetics”, while its sloping roofline and pronounced shoulder line give it the profile of a coupe. A twin rear spoiler adds visual aggression and also improves aerodynamics at higher speeds.
Its dimensions underline its positioning: the S600 is more than 5 metres long, while the wheelbase is close to 3 metres, promising a spacious cabin. That format places it directly among large family crossovers.
Technically, the S600 is offered in several versions. The fully electric model uses a 250 kW motor and can cover up to 800 km in its top configuration. For buyers not yet ready to move entirely to electric driving, Hyptec also provides an extended-range version with a 1.5-litre turbo engine acting as a generator and electric drive. In that setup, electric-only range reaches up to 180 km.
The S600 looks like an attempt to blend the style of the Tesla Model Y with the comfort of large Chinese SUVs. If Hyptec can maintain the right balance between price and technology, the model could become a notable contender in the segment.
