Mercedes-Benz recalls over 201,000 vehicles due to drivetrain risk
Mercedes-Benz is recalling several of its models because of a possible risk of losing drive. The current campaign covers 201,031 vehicles worldwide, including 36,888 cars registered in Germany.
The issue is linked to increased wear in the propeller shaft universal joint, which in the worst case could lead to a loss of drive. As part of the service procedure, Mercedes-Benz technicians will inspect the propeller shaft and replace it if necessary.
The recall applies to vehicles produced between 1 October 2017 and 19 December 2019. The affected models include the E-Class, S-Class Coupe, S-Class, E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet, as well as the GLC and CLS.
