BYD Fang Cheng Bao Tai 3 Ultra RWD launches with 501 km range and 800V tech
BYD has expanded the Fang Cheng Bao Tai 3 range with a new RWD Ultra variant that stretches driving range to up to 501 km. Priced at 149,800 yuan, the rear-drive electric crossover pairs the extended range with a richer set of features.
The model is powered by a 160 kW (214 hp) electric motor, sprints to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and delivers up to 501 km on the CLTC cycle. Its 800-volt architecture keeps charging downtime short: going from 30% to 80% takes just 18 minutes, a figure that should make everyday use feel effortless.
The headline change versus the Max version is the addition of the DiSus-C intelligent body control system, aimed at enhancing comfort and stability. Practical extras also join the spec sheet: a power-operated front trunk, an exclusive light, a microphone, and a built-in refrigerator. The audio setup has been upgraded to a 14-speaker Dynaudio system—thoughtful touches that read as geared toward daily convenience rather than flash.
On the outside, the Ultra stands out with fresh body colors and a signature illuminated badge. Fang Cheng Bao also leans into personalization: buyers can choose from a palette of interior materials, opt for “electrical installation” options, and even use a front panel swap service available at all brand centers. The message is clear—there’s room to make the car your own.
In essence, the Tai 3 Ultra bolsters BYD’s position in the accessible premium EV space, bringing technologies and equipment that used to be the preserve of pricier models.
