Genesis G90 facelift could become South Korea's first production car with Level 3 autonomy
The Genesis G90 is preparing for a notable update. According to Korean Car Blog, citing ETNews, the facelifted sedan is due in the third quarter of 2026 and could become South Korea's first series-production car with a Level 3 autonomous driving system.
New photos of the front end back up earlier renders: the G90 is in for a redesigned nose. Expect a reworked Crest Grille, slimmer two-strip headlights and lighting graphics in the signature Genesis style. Prototypes of the updated G90 had earlier been spotted on test runs in the United States.
The big technical talking point is Level 3. Unlike Level 2 systems, in which the driver must monitor the road at all times, Level 3 conditional automation lets the car take over driving in defined conditions — on certain highways, for example. According to early information, the G90 will get LiDAR, radars, cameras and a new autonomous-driving control unit.
Inside, a more classical digital architecture is expected: sources describe a hidden infotainment display and three digital gauges on the instrument panel. Going by the leaks, Genesis wants to push the G90 closer to ultra-premium sedans rather than simply pile on more screens.
